The Ministry of Lisa Copen
Lisa Copen, Founder of Rest Ministries which serves the chronically ill, shares about mothering, illness, ministry and more.Welcome
I am honored that out of the millions of web sites online, you are here! I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 24 in 1993, and . . . I’ve not been healed. (“Eek! Then how can you minister to others?” some people have dared to ask.)
Well, because God is so good! One of my favorite scriptures is Psalm 119:50, “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” –He preserves it, refreshes it, rejuvenates it. And He wants to do the same for you, despite whatever kind of pain you are in!
I have been blessed beyond measure as I have had the opportunity to start a Christian ministry, Rest Ministries, for people who live with any kind of chronic illness or pain (like back pain). Did you know nearly 1 in 2 people in the United States have a chronic condition?
Many of our symptoms and our pain may be invisible to those around us, but they are not invisible to God. He not only sees your pain but He captures each tear as it falls.
This is one of those “author/speaker” web sites that always feel a little bit self-indulgent, because it’s about . . . well, me. But it’s purpose is to help you quickly locate information about the topics I speak about, books I’ve written, and organizations I am a part of, so that I may walk beside you in this journey (and you can consider me “credible.”)
More than anything, I hope this personal web site will connect us on a deeper level as you visit the Rest Ministries web site and find out more about how your illness may be more than a thorn — even an asset!

Please help my understand undiagnosed chronic pain. it’s almost
like I have to scream in order for
him to understand. If I put on a happy face he seems to think I’m just fine.
Sandra, one thing I have learned is first to allow the people on this site to minister to you. I am just coming back after several months and I am told that is common and completely OK. In regard to your need for? to understand your undiagnosed chronic pain, I so much understand and pray in the new way I pray(i pray right now because people, myself included often say they will pray and really mean it but quickly forget due to other life issues of the day. So, I pray the minute I say I will).God, I love you and your goodness. You are showing me how faithful you are even when I am not I know how Sandra feels, Lord. It hurts even worse and causes ME to feel guilt for no reason. I know you feel every pain I have ever felt, that you have gone through it with me…you are here with us right now and YOU know pain. I’m learning from wiser people you have sent for better understanding of my pain and why others dont get it. Bless Sandra with PEACE and ENCOURAGEMENT right now and onward. Help her get to know the people on this special site I know I was led to it as an answer to frustrated prayer and You will help Sandra too. Thank you so much, Lord. I am so sorry for not being thankful for many of the blessings in the past I just didn’t aknowledge as if I deserved them. Thank you for teaching me thanksgiving, growing humility, and answering my daily prayer to really LOVE YOU more Jesus…I want to have more ZEAL AND LOVE for you that I am slow to understand. You deserve so much and I deserve, without your Grace, to be dead, dying, or on my way to eternal separation from you. Bless all of us seeking YOU first, YOUR Kingdom, YOUR Righteousness, and know every other need will work out. Bless Sandra today especially and thank you for reminding me to stay away from isolation and get back to communicating with others on the site. In Jesus name, AMEN.
I haven’t been to the site for a while Lisa but that doesn’t change my sincere appreciation and many lessons I learned from the others who so Gracefully accepted me. jef
God please continue to bless the life of Lisa Copen as she teaches us how to live on this side of eternity in a fallen world and how she manages to grit her teeth through pain to mirror the life of Jesus
