Friday is National Donut Day

Did you know… tomorrow (Friday) is National Doughnut Day! Sounds like a bit of a silly holiday but this “holiday” –the first Friday of June each year– was actually started by the Chicago Salvation Army in 1938.

For those of us counting calories, we should maybe just stick with iced coffee, but if you have been meaning to call a friend and take them out for coffee, what better day is there to celebrate than National Donut Day I ask?

On Friday, June 5, participating Krispy Kreme stores and Dunkin’ Donuts will give away a free doughnut to all its customers. (Think there will be lines?)

There is no purchase is necessary to receive a free doughnut. The offer is good for one doughnut per customer.
